Jeremy Ben-Ami is the founder and president of J Street and the author of A New Voice for Israel. During his 25-year career in government, politics and communications, Ben-Ami did a stint as President Bill Clinton’s deputy domestic policy adviser. He was one of 50 “People of the Decade” selected in 2010 by Ha’aretz and The Jerusalem Post included him in its list of the 50 Most Influential Jews in the world.

He comes from a family who were pioneers in Israel, founders of Tel Aviv and fighters for the country’s independence. He told us why he thinks it is urgent to secure Israel’s future through peace and urges all Jews to support a broad and varied discussion about Israel, rooted in the values and principles of the Jewish people.
