Margaret MacMillan is Warden of St Antony’s College and a Professor of International History at the University of Oxford. She has honorary degrees from the University of King’s College and the Royal Military College among others. In 2006 Professor MacMillan was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada.

In her thought-provoking new book, History’s People: Personalities and the Past, Margaret MacMillan considers the impact of character and personality on historical events, analysing the interplay between individuals and their worlds, from Roosevelt to Nixon, Lord Beaverbrook to Margaret Thatcher, Bismarck to Victor Klemperer.
