Alona Kimchi was born in 1968 in Russia and came to Israel with her family in 1972. Her two books in Ivrit have won many awards; this is the first to be translated into English. Lunar Eclipse (Toby Press) is a collection of intense short stories, pulling no punches in their language and in the situations and characters which populate them, reflecting the discontent of the Israel's younger, middle-class generation. Risa Domb is Lecturer in Modern Hebrew Literature, Cambridge University.
