Sarah Churchwell is Professor of American Literature and Public Understanding of the Humanities at UEA. Her latest book is Careless People: Murder, Mayhem and The Invention of The Great Gatsby. Her journalism has appeared in the Guardian, Financial Times, Independent, Times and the Telegraph among others. She has judged several literary prizes and comments regularly on culture and politics for tv and radio.
