This excursion to showed some of the world's most important Hebrew manuscripts, housed in the British Library. Ilana Tahan introduced treasures including the 14th century Golden Haggadah from Catalonia, Spain, and the 1482 Lisbon Bible.  Rachel Kolsky then lead a gentle walk to explore the renovated Victorian Kings Cross and St Pancras railway stations and their literary associations. The tour ended at Kings Place in time for Jewish Book Week’s afternoon sessions.

The Hebrew Manuscripts collection, one of the world’s most important, embraces many areas of Hebrew literature, with Bible, Talmud, Kabbalah, philosophy and poetry particularly well represented.

Rachel Kolsky is a prize-winning Blue Badge guide who is passionate about exploring London's heritage. Her walks and talks cover a wide range of themes but always focus on the human stories behind the buildings. Her first book, Jewish London, was published in March 2012.
