FILM $9.99

Based on the stories of iconic Israeli short story writer, Etgar Keret and adapted for the screen by the writer and director Tatia Rosenthal, $9.99 is a stop-motion animated feature set in a Sydney apartment complex. It follows a rich cast of neighbours within the building, each looking for meaning in their lives. Featuring the voices of Geoffrey Rush and Anthony LaPaglia, amongst others, the film is filled with wry, frequently off-the-wall humour and an unflinching approach to the darker side of human nature and yet, pieced together, it is filled with hope.
