Reading Group: Shelley Weiner

Shelley Weiner

Jewish Book Week presented two opportunities to experience a reading group. Hosted by author Shelley Weiner.

On 7 March the group discussed Weeping Suzannah by Alona Kimhi (Abacus 2002), a funny and moving story of obsession and human frailty in the melting pot of modern Israel.

Shelley Weiner was born in South Africa and worked as a journalist for many years before turning to fiction. Her novels include A Sister's Tale (1991), The Last Honeymoon (1992), The Joker (1993) and Arnost(2001). She teaches creative writing at Birkbeck College, London.
