Two of the most formidably minded polemicists on the literary scene discussed the many possible manifestations of Judaism and whether any of these semitic permutations actually matters.

Will Self has made a record number of appearances on Have I Got News for You as well as being one of the archetypal Grumpy Old Men. Columnist and reviewer, he has produced several compilations of his work as well as his fictions. For Self nothing is sacrosanct and his satirical gaze can land anywhere, even on Self himself. 

Adam Thirwell is the author of two novels Politics and the Escape, and of a book on the international art of the novel, Miss Herbert. He was named by Granta magazine as one of twenty 'Best of Young British novelists' in 2003.
