School Day

Caroline Lawrence,
Howard Schwartz
Daniel Hahn
Leonie Flynn

JBW 2008's School Day looked at ‘Storytelling Histories.' We invited year 6 classes to sample some of the most exciting parts of the festival in a series of three specially designed sessions with some multi-talented and award-winning writers.

Caroline Lawrence, author of The Roman Mysteries spoke about the way she uncovers and brings to life stories from history, focusing on The Slave Girl Form Jerusalem; Storyteller and Folklorist Howard Schwartz told the story of The Bird of Happiness and other stories of Jerusalem; and Daniel Hahn and Leonie Flynn, editors of The Ultimate Book Guide told us the secret of what makes a good story.
