Jewish Book Week was proud to present the first major public reading of this powerful work of fiction by Kressman Taylor. Described as “the most effective indictment of Nazism to appear in fiction,” the book was a sensation when it was first published in the US on the eve of the Holocaust.

Henry Goodman

Henry Goodman is a multi-award-winning actor, twice recipient of the Laurence Olivier award and winner of the London Critics’ Circle Award. He has recently starred in Trevor Nunn’s Volpone.

Andrew Sachs

Andrew Sachs was born in Berlin to a Jewish father and a Catholic mother. He escaped with his family to England in 1938, aged eight. Speaking no English, he somehow survived various British schools before taking to the boards, most famously as Manuel in Fawlty Towers but with many major roles to his credit.
