The Human Condition
Amy Bloom, Lionel Shriver
We were delighted to launch two great works of fiction: Amy Bloom’s Where the God of Love Hangs Out and So Much for That, by the author of We Need to Talk About Kevin, Lionel Shriver.
The two American authors discussed love in and outside marriage, families tested by illness, unconventional relations, social constraints and the universal yearning for happiness; themes they treat with their usual intelligence and insightfulness
Amy Bloom is the author of four novels, White Houses, Lucky Us, Away and Love Invents Us; three collections of short stories, Where the God of Love Hangs Out, Come to Me and A Blind Man Can See How Much I Love You, (all published in one volume as Rowing to Eden); and a collection of essays, Normal. She is the Shapiro-Silverberg Professor of Creative Writing at Wesleyan University. She lives in Connecticut. Image cr. Elena Seibert
