A unique chance to hear from two bestselling writers who experienced the Coronavirus crisis first hand, as patient and doctor. Michael Rosen spent much of last year in hospital suffering from the virus, including six weeks in an induced coma. Many Different Kinds of Love: A story of life, death and the NHS mixes stunning new prose poems from the former Children’s Laureate with the moving diaries of the doctors and nurses who saved his life. Palliative care specialist Dr Rachel Clarke has followed the acclaimed Dear Life and Your Life In My Hands with Breathtaking: Inside the NHS in a time of pandemic, her unflinching but hopeful account of her time on the Covid-19 wards. They will be in conversation with Jewish Renaissance editor Rebecca Taylor.

Michael Rosen is a poet, broadcaster, former Children’s Laureate and a recipient of one of France’s top honours: Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. He has presented BBC Radio 4’s Word of Mouth since 1996.
Rachel Clarke is a palliative care doctor and former television journalist who cares deeply about standing up for her patients and the NHS. She retrained as a doctor in her late twenties, after making current affairs documentaries about subjects as diverse as the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Al Qaeda and the civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Rachel believes that helping patients who are approaching the end of their lives experience the best quality life possible is priceless.
She lives in Oxford with her husband and two children.
Rebecca Taylor
Rebecca Taylor is the editor of JR. She has been a journalist for 25 years, starting her career on the domestic news desk of The Japan Times newspaper in Tokyo and then returning to the UK where she worked at the Guardian for several years. She was the news editor at Time Out London for ten years where she interviewed everyone from Boris Johnson to Zadie Smith. She joined JR in 2015. Her work has appeared in several anthologies and she is the co-editor of Age of Confidence: The New Jewish Culture Wave, The History Press, 2021.
