Stephen Twigg

Stephen Twigg has been MP for Enfield Southgate since 1997. His first government position was as Deputy Leader of the House of Commons and he is now Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Education and Skills. Stephen was educated at Southgate School and read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Balliol College, Oxford. In 1990 he was elected President of the National Union of Students and in 1992 was elected as a Councillor for the London Borough of Islington. Stephen was Chair of Labour Friends of Israel from 1998-2001
