William Frankel

William Frankel was born into a Hasidic community in London\'s East End, his father a stall-holder in Petticoat Lane. Escaping the Blitz took him to Cambridge where he studied law.  Expanding into ever-wider social, professional and intellectual circles, he vividly describes the extraordinary encounters that he had with political leaders, writers and artists, developing friendships with Isaiah Berlin, RB Kitaj, Yehudi Menuhin and David Ben Gurion.
